At the age of 22, in July 2013, I started to travel the world. The longest time away from home was 1.5 years. I explored Central and South America. One year of it with my boyfriend. It was a great, sometimes tough but a very rewarding experience.

In between traveling, I finished my master’s degree in Psychology and worked as a private tutor, youth worker, event manager, photographer, model, with refugees, in a food store, at a trade fair, in a hospital, in a restaurant, in a bar, on a farm and started a catering business.

Besides Couchsurfing I have volunteered at various places. All of them have given me the possibility to observe new lifestyles and have given me many ideas of how to realise my dreams. Building an eco resort with workshops. Fresh cooked food from the own permaculture garden, electricity from renewable energies, compost toilets, a woodstove, a sauna, a massage table, collecting rainwater,… All those places gave me inspiration and courage that it is possible to live in harmony with nature.

I love to travel minimally (only carry-on luggage), cook, help people, and inspiring discussions about controversial topics. I enjoy getting to know viewpoints and opinions that I have not thought about before. Being sustainable is very important to me. Our resources are limited. Being angry or sad would not help at all. But I can try to be a good example. A catalyst. Being self-confident in what I am doing. I believe that every single person on this planet counts and can change something if they truly want (snowball effect). I want the next generation to be able to enjoy the beauty of the nature as I do now. One of the reasons I live a minimalist life.

This website is a way for me to share my thoughts about minimalism (how to save money, time, resources and energy, and maximise my quality of life), sustainability, my travel experiences (destinations, preparations, expenses and packing list), and healthy recipes (plant-based). My main goal is to inspire you to go check out more of the beauty of the world and yourself and connect with similar minded people. Networking is the key.

Follow if you would like to keep updated with my thoughts, experiences, new recipes, and travel tips around the world.

Thanks a lot for stopping by to check out my website.
Love, Debora
